How to Publish Your Journal Paper: Understanding Metadata and the Submission Process

The stumble in submitting a research paper in research publishing is that few authors understand the process until after they've published a few manuscripts.   This session will take participants through the submission and editorial workflow of an Open Access Journal. The Learning objectives are in support of CAMEDS-PA (2021) Communicator, Collaborator and Scholarship and EPA 12 Integrates continuing professional and patient quality improvement, life-long learning, and scholarship. By the conclusion of this interactive session virtual participants will have a foundational understanding of the submission processes workflow, and understand terms used for the author's Metadata entry (keywords, subjects, disciplines, languages, supporting agencies, Rights, coverage, DOI, ORCHID, and more).

Learning Objectives 

At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:

  1. Foundational understanding of the submission processes workflow.
  2. Understand terms used for the author's Metadata entry (keywords, subjects, disciplines, languages, supporting agencies, Rights, coverage, DOI, ORCHID, and more).
  3. Develop an appreciation for the background work involved in editing a professional journal.
